Long bio

~200 words

Sonny Marmon is a healthcare executive and youth workforce advocate based in Rochester, Minnesota. Founder of The Marmon Foundation, the organizational umbrella for his workforce, research, youth pathway, public-resource, and policy work. A healthcare operations, finance, and quality improvement professional, he holds active certifications including Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB), Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP), Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR), Certified Specialist Business Intelligence (CSBI), Certified Specialist Payment & Reimbursement (CSPR), and the Bronze Mayo Quality Fellow. His experience spans clinical data research at Mayo Clinic's Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, frontline hospital service at North Memorial Health and Regions Hospital, and executive leadership as Communications Chair of the HFMA Minnesota Chapter. He is an active member of AAHAM, ACHE, HIMSS, MGMA, and HFMA, and has published research on management science, optimization, and strategy. Those experiences led to a broader interest in healthcare workforce development — particularly whether motivated high-school-age students have enough meaningful opportunities to begin building healthcare careers before adulthood. He founded the Rochester Youth Healthcare Pathways Project, a research and advocacy initiative documenting healthcare jobs, programs, internships, volunteer work, and mentorship available to younger students, with eligibility details tied to primary sources. Sonny is available for commentary on youth workforce development, healthcare operations and finance careers, and age-related employment barriers. His work does not represent any employer or organization in an official capacity.
